Week 14a- Print Ready Design-Layout Terms

1) serif font- a slight projection finishing off a stroke of a letter in certain typefaces.

2) sans serif font- a style of type without serifs.
3) margin- the edge or border of something

4) illustrator guide- ruler for illustrator

5) bleed- is a printing term that refers to printing that goes beyond the edge of the sheet before trimming
6) CMYK- refers to the four inks used in some color printing: cyan, magenta, yellow, and key (black)

7) Image resolution -detail an image holds. The term applies to raster digital images, film images, and other types of images, Higher resolution means more image detail.
8) Proof copy-  a copy of (a book, story, etc) made from trial impressions made from composed type, or print-outs (from a laser printer, etc) for the correction of errors 


9)art board- An on-screen design surface in a drawing application.

10) registration mark- designated by ® , is a symbol that provides notice that the preceding word or symbol is a trademark or service mark that has been registered with a national trademark office
