CALLIGRAM-a word or piece of text in which the design and layout of the letters creates a visual image related to the meaning of the words themselves.

PICTOGRAMS-a pictorial symbol for a word or phrase. Pictographs were used as the earliest known form of writing, examples having been discovered in Egypt and Mesopotamia from before 3000 BC.
| This pictogram is showing the company IBM. The viewer is meant to think to take the picture as if it was a word. |
| This pictogram is showing the store named Sears. The viewer is meant to think of the ear in a plural sense in order to make it seem like the store's name. |
| This pictogram is showing a search engine named FireFox. The viewer is meant to think of fire and a fox and put it together. |
